LOVE my Edamame

Hey everyone

Besides eating exotic fruits as my past-time snacks (NOTE: I do indulge in potato chips and chocolate bar and ice-cream once in a while.), I have found another healthy snack at my nearest supermarket. Its the Edamame bean, or better known as the immature soybeans in the pod. It is commonly found in Japanese restaurants. Edamame is rich in protein, carbohydrates, dietary fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.

To prepare the Edamame is fairly simple. All you need is hot boiling water and pour it over the Edamame and let it cooked between 3 to 4 minutes. Remember to add salt if the bean is not sprinkled with salt yet. Drain the water and it is ready to eat. Sound simple and quick, doesn't it? I recommend that you eat it while its hot. The salt truly enhances the taste of the bean. Once it turns cold, the taste is pretty much tasteless. Like me, even my daughter loves Edamame. Now, I just need to persuade darling hubby to join us for an Edamame party. Well, it is nice to eat and share food with happy people. : ) Happy Snacking!!
